I first met Greyson and Ellen about a year ago at Greyson’s sister’s (Katelyn)  engagement to Robbie (who I went to college with haha). It all links up somehow! They started with a small ceremony about a year ago (yes they got to marry each other twice!), then we had their engagement photos at Maymont in Richmond, VA and this past Sunday, they celebrated with 140 of their friends and family at Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, VA. This spot was back in the woods a wee bit, you know the kind of place where you don’t have any cell service for a while, and it was beautiful! Greenery surrounded the ceremony with full and tall trees everywhere. That combined with the cozy cabin feel during the reception, it made for a perfect day while the weather even cooperated! Like most days lately, it originally called for rain most of the day, but there wasn’t a drop on Sunday.

    Greyson and his USMC friends looked handsome in their blues, and I won’t tell you about Ellen’s dress (you’ll have to see below), but she DID wear her mother’s veil from her wedding! It was beautiful and also pretty amazing how well it went with her dress. In addition, there were a lot of other details about this wedding that I loved!

    As Ellen’s dad said in his welcome toast, “Greyson and Ellen have been together since they were about 2, so no one was too surprised about this…” (haha well said Papa Sweat). What an amazing day with fun details, accents, all of their friends and family, and it perfectly fitting to have it on Memorial Day weekend. Thank you to Greyson and all of the men and women out there for your service. Congrats again to Ellen and Greyson!
